Herbie Hancock announces U.S. tour dates
Iconic jazz musician Herbie Hancock will be returning to the road later in 2021 for the first time since 2019’s co-headlining tour with Kamasi Washington. The new 10-date outing takes place in September visiting Grand Prairie, Austin, San Antonio, Denver, Fort Collins, Bonner, Seattle, Troutdale, Napa and Los Angeles. Also in September, the pianist will be making an appearance at Detroit Jazz Festival along with Kenny Barron, Abdullah Ibrahim, Anat Cohen, Sean Jones, Kenny Garrett and Gregory Porter.
Hancock’s latest studio album ‘The Imagine Project’ was released back in 2010 via his own Hancock record label. The album reached #2 on Billboard’s Jazz chart and features duets with artists like Pink, John Legend, Juanes and Dave Matthews. His extensive discography now includes 41 studio albums, 12 live albums, 62 compilation albums and 5 soundtrack albums. The jazz composer has collected 14 Grammy Awards to go along with 5 MTV Awards and 1 Academy Award.
